Pilot Awareness Training /
Executive - Pilot Awareness Training - Coming Soon!
Type: Unusual Attitude / Spin Recovery
Length: PAT - 3 days
, E-PAT 5 Days
First developed in 1998, the E-PAT has evolved into the most sophisticated unusual attitude training course in the world. Utilizing the state-of-the-art Extra 300L and Cessna 400 aircraft, the course provides an unparalleled exploration of the art of aircraft control.
A modern pilot taught to current FAA standards has experienced less than 13 percent of an airplane’s complete flight envelope. Any aircraft is a completely three-dimensional machine, capable of encountering many adverse situations under the wrong conditions. Accident statistics have proven that in situations where a pilot is pushed to the edge of their experience, the results are usually disastrous.
The E-PAT course will train any pilot towards complete confidence during all phases of flight and allow even seasoned aviators to improve their aircraft control skills. Through exposure to high G-loads, extreme attitudes, and dizzying rates of rotation, an E-PAT graduate will have gained actual real-world experience and developed the skills needed to cope with any flight situation. This environment cannot be reproduced in even the most modern full-motion simulator.
Note: The E-PAT training in the Cessna 400 is currently pending and will hopefully be available beginning later this year. The shorter PAT course is currently available in either our Pitts biplanes or Extra 300L.
Training includes:
Fully controlled flight at high angles of attack / stalled flight
Basic through advanced spin development and recovery
Recoveries from all flight attitudes
Dealing with control system failures
Basic aerobatic training for precision flight in unusual attitudes
