Aerobatic Proficiency Training
Type: Basic Aerobatic Course
Length: 5 days
At the Tutima Academy we have a passion for aerobatic flight. The APT course reflects that passion. Designed to be the most thorough basic aerobatic training package ever developed, the APT has been the centerpiece of our teaching for many years.
The APT begins with a complete redefinition of aircraft control concepts, giving the pilot a universal set of fundamentals that will remain true through even the most advanced maneuvers. The pilot is taught to fully control his aircraft at any angle of attack and any airspeed.
The course then introduces the building blocks of any aerobatic flight. Spins, rolls, loops, lines. The maneuvers are next combined together in a progressive manner, gradually gaining complexity.
The most important portion of the APT is the complete exploration of the realm of the spin. Every possible type of spin is studied, explained, and then flown. Emphasis is placed on developing a repeatable, methodical, exacting method of recovery. Graduates of the APT not only can recognize and recover from any spin, they learn to love doing it.
The APT Includes:
Coordination Exercises
Stalls
Aileron and Snap Rolls
Loops
Loop / Roll Combinations ( Cuban Eights, Immelman, Etc.)
Hammerhead
Aerobatic Sequences
Vertical Rolls
Inverted Flight
Tailslides
Gyroscopics
Spins (All modes upright and inverted)
All maneuvers are taught to competition standards with a bent on safety.
The APT course package includes ten hours of flight time and around ten to fifteen hours of ground time. The training usually takes five days or more, based on an average two flights a day.
The APT course is the first step towards realizing the dream of aerobatic flight. The team at the Tutima Academy will continue to guide your aerobatic career long after you’ve completed training with us. We are available to help answer questions, and ensure your safety for as long as you take to the air.
