10.7.07 - San Francisco

In their final showing of the year the Collaborators rocked San Fransisco bay over Fleet Week. One of the most beautiful locations in the world to fly aerobatics provided the perfect backdrop for the teams most polished performances to date. Look for some amazing new things from this team next year and we'll see you out on the road!

9.2.07 - Delano Contest

The Tutima Academy was well represented at the Delano, CA aerobatic contest this year. Five students beat up safety pilot Ken Erickson in the box flying our Pitts S-2C and instructor Ben Freelove competed in the Extra 300L.

Congratulations to Joe Enzminger placing third in Sportsman as well as bringing home the "Highest scoring first time Sportman" award, as well as Ben Freelove for taking home third in Advanced!

8.17.07 - New On The Flight Line Video

The great team at On The Flight Line have completed their latest video featuring the Tutima Academy. Ben Freelove teaches instructor / host Jason Miller how to properly do a ballistic aileron roll. The final product speaks for itself!

8.12.07 - Portland

The Collaborators strike again, this time showing their stuff for the fans in Portland Oregon. After training all week in very bumpy conditions the air smoothed out for the Friday evening show, as well as Saturday and Sundays performances. The team also flew a private show on Wednesday for the great folks at the Oregon Aero factory.

 

7.29.07 - Oshkosh!

The Tutima Academy was well represented at Oshkosh this year by the Collaborators! The new formation aerobatic team is made up of four academy instructors; President Sean D. Tucker (#1) lead, Ben Freelove (#2) right wing, Eric Tucker (#3) left wing, and Bill Stein (#4) slot. The show features dynamic formation figures including echelon, arrowhead, and diamond formation as well as a "melee" solo section with all four aircraft in the box at the same time. Look for more Collaborators performances this year as well as a possible full season beginning next year.

6.2.07 - Merced Airshow

The weather proved better in Merced and allowed the Tutima Academy Formation Team to put on their full show. Crowd favorites we're the triple dueling torque rolls, slotski (all slot) formation loop and hammerhead, and the rolling rejoin. Bill Stein also flew his mind blowing solo in his Edge 540.

 

5.27.07 - Watsonville Airshow

Billed as the Tutima Academy Formation Flight Team , Academy instructors Ken Erickson, Bill Stein, and Ben Freelove performed a three ship formation. The show featured many of the basic techniques taught in our FFT course as well as a few new ideas. The weather didn't allow for the full performance but the team was prepared with a low and flat show that still showcased their hard work.

4.30.07 - FAA Aproves Columbia E-PAT!

We have just received permision from the FAA to begin our E-PAT course in the Columbia 400. Big thanks to Eric Tucker for all his efforts in getting the approval. Training in the Columbia will be available beginning in November of this year.

2.20.07 Oracle Challenger III Rebuild

We are in the midst of our annual Oracle Challenger overhaul. This years airplane will feature some exciting new changes and promises to be the best yet! It's always a privelage to get to watch Sean's crew assemble such an amazing machine each year.

 

1.15.07 - Germany Trip / Extra Aircraft Factory

Eric Tucker and I have just returned from our trip to the Extra factory in Dinslaken, Germany. We had a chance to tour the facilities and see how our favorite aerobatic airplanes are really put together. Needless to say we were extremely impressed!

 

1.1.07 - David Clark Headsets
